Hi Derek,

Yes - Had found 1871 Census Findern William Haynes B 1866 living with Cowlishaw G.Parents
and agree he must be Sarah Haynes nee Cowlishaw's son.

1861 BOT Staffs
George Cowlishaw born 1817 & Ann both born Findern, but Sarah is not with them

1851 Findern Derbys
George Cowlishaw born 1822 & Ann born Findern, Sarah is with them born 1844 Weston on Trent.

Cannot find Sarah in 1861 Census under Cowlishaw or Haynes, also cannot find her marriage
to Haynes.

Think you may get more info from Henry & Sarah's marriage in 1873.

Good Luck

Hi Derek,

Forgot to say that George Cowlishaw = Ann Poxon Sept. Q 1845 Derby.  So if Sarah Cowlishaw
was born 1843/44 she was illegitimate.  I think her Birth is Registered December Q 1843
Shardlow as Sarah Poxon

I have been worrying about the fact that Sarah Poxon married Josiah Haynes.........parents of the aforesaid William Haynes............that elusive Cowlishaw connection is bugging me..\sarah Poxon and Selina Cowlishaw were in service together............Selina was the sister of Sarah Cowlishaw..and of the 1851 Thomas Cowlishaw......

...sorry Spendlove..just read your message again..of course!! Sarah Cowlishaw and Sarah Poxon are one and the same!!!..so the marriage to Josiah Haynes, and their son William are back in the frame......and all the rest follows!!..
Willing to research Derbyshire ancestors (free of charge) have a large number of derbyshire parish records. and access to many others including full Census including 1911....
