On the 1891 Census they had a son John J born c1881.

In 1901 John is a boarder in Percy Street, Newcastle. He is a Clerk for an Aerated Water Manufacturer.

So you do appear to have the right parents.

Ah. I wondered why he was missing in 1901. How did you manage to trace him so quickly. So do we agree on Mary Annes parents or maybe John was her father? Im just guessing that though!

My mum has ben asking about Meggie Lumsden. That sounds right that you have found her as Maggie Lumsden who died in June 1968 Durham N. 1a406. What we are trying to find out her address when she died. Is there a way we can do that?

There are several Stoker infant deaths registered between 1884 and 1893. Anyone of them MIGHT belong to your family but you would have to buy the death certs to find out .

Likewise the 1924 death for a Mary A Stoker. It will only tell you one of the parents names (if one of them actually registered the death).

You can order online from the GRO and they cost £9.25 incl postage.

So you've dragged your Mum into it now have you? Haven't we got enough problems?!

I think it highly unlikely that John is her father. He would only have been about 13!

I found him on the 1901 using his name, year of birth and Pelton.

Re: Maggie - same applies - you would have to buy death cert I'm afraid.

Suggest you hang fire until the others get back from the pub!

Thanks for your help, fingers crossed someone can help with the address of Meggie/Maggies death otherwise we might have to buy the birth certificate. You seem to be a lot quicker at all of this than us beginners. At least we have found a few more names today. Next to move on to Meggie and Ralphs children. Only two children 15 years apart... now to work out what happened there.
