Beamish Village Farm
« on: Saturday 30 April 16 18:00 BST (UK) »
Does anybody know of any connection of the Ridley or Rowell family with the above farm.  Was it owned by any of these familys and when in the late 1800s to 1900s

You might need to go into more detail - was this in Allendale, Northumberland?

Wemyss/Crombie/Laing/Blyth (West Wemyss)
Givens/Normand (Dysart)
Clark/Lister (Dysart)
Wilkinson/Simson (Kettle or Kettlehill)

There does not seem to be a "Beamish Village Farm" see the map at http://maps.nls.uk/view/102341509#zoom=5&lat=7000&lon=9858&layers=BT Where do you get this name from?

Wish I had more details for you.  I am searching on my Fathers side of the family and somebody suggested that the Farm was owned by Ridleys at one time and that is his surname.

Keep in mind that Ridley was a fairly common name in the area, so even if Ridleys did own a particular farm, it may have been a different Ridley family. Your best best is to research your family in  the usual way and see of they show up there in a census or on a birth marriage or death record for example.

In Kelly's Directory of Durham, 1890 John Ridley is listed, under Pitt Hill, as the farm bailiff to T.D. Eden esq. Beamish High Stables.
