Skene's in Manitoba, Canada
« on: Friday 06 May 16 22:38 BST (UK) »
If at all possible I am trying to find any information on a 2nd Great Uncle and his family who moved to Canada from Scotland in 1910. His name was Andrew Skene and he married Emma Dorothy Smallwood. I know that they had 3 daughters and have names for them but not much else. I have a letter from Andrew to his younger brother James, who was my Great Grandfather and Andrew mentions his younger sister Mary.  I believe that various siblings of Andrew emigrated to Canada. I have managed to find 3 newspaper clippings that mention the 3 daughters of Andrew & Emma in  1935, 1937 & 1940 but can't seem to find anything else

If anyone can help shine some light on this family, it would be greatly appreciated.

Canada has quite strict privacy laws so as we come forward, information can be limited. If nothing materialises on here perhaps contact the nearest public libraries to see if you can get obituaries which may throw more light on the children.

Andrew Skene - Born in Sparcrags Bellhelvie Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland on 23 Aug 1888 to William Skene and Ann Beattie. Andrew married Emma Dorothy Smallwood and had 3 children. He passed away on 30 Sep 1984 in Winnipeg, Misericordia, Manitoba, Canada.
