Locating family/documents
« on: Wednesday 18 May 16 18:18 BST (UK) »
I have been trying to trace my grandfather's family.  I have been doing really well but can not seem to locate documents that verify my information.   My great grandfather Alexander Waterston Sr. (1874-1954) and his wife Margaret Falconer (1879-1968) were both born in Paisley.  They later moved to Manitoba, Canada.   I believe he had many siblings.  I am trying to locate them.  They are all Waterston's... James (1870-?) Jeanie (1868-?) Agnes (1866-?) Margaret (1863-?) William (1861-?) Robert (1860-?) Martha (1858-1944) Mary (1857-1944) John (1855-?)  I'm really hoping to also find photos as well as living relatives.  Not really sure where to look.

On Ancestry there's a passenger list from the "Cassandra" (Anchor Line) arriving in Glasgow from Montreal on 14 July 1920.  A Margaret Waterston (born about 1877, Housewife & resident of Canada) and an Annie Waterston (born about 1909, also resident of Canada) are on board, and the Scottish address they give is 56 Gobion Road, Dundee (although the print's a bit smudgy, so this could be slightly wrong).

In 1916 Alexander and Margaret Waterston with children Marion and Robert are living in Neepawa Manitoba having arrived in Canada in 1903.  They are still there in 1920 only son Alexander with them.

Just realised you probably wanted the family back in UK!  Whoops.
I am Zoe Northeast, granddaughter of Maximilian Double.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,
Zoe
