Ann Ball b.1811 Bradenham
« on: Wednesday 18 May 16 21:12 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for the parents of Ann Ball b.1811 in Bradenham.

I do not think the baptism is in the Bradenham parish records as I would have checked this in the past.

She married Robert Gibson Milner on 16th May 1829 in Primative Methodists, High Wycombe so may be why she does't show in the parish records.

She died 31st January 1858 and was buried in High Wycombe.

Any help would be appreciated.

The marriage shows in the BucksFHS transcripts for Bradenham, but not her baptism.

16 May 1829   by Banns
Robert Gibson MILNER, Bachelor of High Wycombe
Ann X BALL, Spinster of Bradenham.
Witnesses - Samuel Ball & Elizabeth Ball.

I'll add this Bradenham marriage as it may be her parents, going by the year. ;)

Marriage - 6 Nov 1809.  by Banns
Edmond BALL otp
Frances X KING otp
Witnesses - Henry Ball & Thomas Tipson.

(PS. I'm not a stalker.....honest).

Thanks once again.

This gives me more information than before as it names some witnesses. Now to try and find Samuel and Elizabeth Ball and see if I can make a link that way!

Having recently discovered this website, helpful people like yourself are helping find leads for family that I haven't been able to make any progress on for quite some time. It helped when I lived in the area and could view parish records at Wycombe library but I don't have that luxury anymore.

Edmond & Frances Ball, had children baptized @ Bradenham, and were 'of West Wycombe' on one of them.  Occ. Blacksmith.

Very slight possibility that Ann Ball may have been baptised at St Lawrence, West Wycombe, IF they are her parents.

The 1851 shows a Samuel Ball b 1813 Bradenham (spelt as Braddenham).  Wife is Eliza

There is a possibility he married after 1837 as eldest child was born 1840

If you don't have census access - let me know and I will post full details

I think I checked in the parish records at the time as you can almost see Bradenham from West Wycombe and I've walked the distance down the road.

Now - to make things more complicated it looks as if her death was registered as Amelia Milner in the June quarter of 1858 in Wycombe.

I think I found her in the burial records as I have her death as 31st Jan 1858 and burial as 10th Feb 1858 in High Wycombe. There's no death for an Ann Milner registered in Buckinghamshire in 1858.

Thanks CaroleW :)

I currently don't have census access. I did last month!

Ann has a son named Samuel Milner b.1837 and my direct ancestor is Eliza Milner b.1831. A strong connection to the names of the witnesses.
