John Collins 1851 census
« on: Thursday 19 May 16 21:18 BST (UK) »
John Collins married Ann Harris on 8th September 1803 at St Martin's in Worcester. Their daughter, Ann, was baptised on 24th March 1802 at the same church and married Job Jenkins there in 1823 before moving to Pershore where she died in 1844. I think Ann may have been John and Ann's only child.

I can't find any information about John or his wife before or after their marriage. There is a John Collins aged 80 in the Union Workhouse in Pershore in 1851, a widower, born about 1771 in Pershore. His occupation had formerly been a "flax dresser". Could this be my John Collins? I have no idea about John's date of birth or place of birth so it may not be him at all.

That's what I thought but then I noticed that this child died a few days after his baptism.  :-[

Have you tried searching Bricklehampton or Cropthorne as that seems to be the neck of the woods for a lot of the Collins line

Good luck with your search

All the very best
