I know what you are saying, it's not conclusive. But the marriage of  Mark Allen and Sarah Pascoe, her father (John) was deceased, I would have thought if Atty had been deceased at this time it would have said, if he is the correct Mark Allen.

Have you followed any of the family through ? Is that Mark in the 1861 census with wife Sarah, Grace's son ?

There were 2 Mark ALLENs both age 5 recorded in the 1841 census of Helston district.  Father of one found in Wendron parish was Atty, father of other found in St Martin parish was William.

Right so we can rule that marriage out, and Mark Allen probably died 1856, thanks to pinefamily finding that  :)

Now to find Atty  ???

I think we can rule out the 1863 death I found. There is an Anthony Allen on the 1851 census, born c.1789, in St Austell.  :(
I am Australian, from all the lands I come (my ancestors, at least!)

Devon, Dorset, Gloucs, Cornwall, Warwickshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire, Wilts, Germany, Sweden, and of course London, to name a few.

Maybe not. How far would a carpenter travel for work?
There is an Anthony Allen death registered in Westbury June quarter 1856. I know some of my stonemason ancestors travelled far and wide.

The only reference to an Atty Allen I found was in Ireland 1839 , some sort of fox and hounds hunting man ???

Just thought I'd try newspapers but didn't expect to find anything at all  ;D

I wouldn't worry about not seeing him in 1851 ~ I don't think anyone can see him  :o
