Posting "Extra" Scottish SRI Records
« on: Friday 27 May 16 20:33 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I have quite a few records I've collected on Scotland's People over the last few years.  I have listed the deaths I have info on and want to post this. What is the best way?  Should I divide by county and post in the appropriate forum?  or by surname on the 'Unwanted BMD' boards?

Thanks

Hi Grisel, I think as there is already a board for them, that the Unwanted Certs one would be the way to go.

I have a number that I want to put up as well, but getting around to it's certainly another story!

OK, thanks, I'll do that. (When I get around to it, that is!)

There is a web site specially set up for posting extra certificates

http://www.sctbdm.com/index.php

If everyone with extras posts them to the same place, rather than some being posted here and some there or on other sites, having all the 'extra' information in one place would be much more useful.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Thanks, Forfarian.

I didn't know about that site.  One thing I noticed, just taking a quick look, is that they require all info up front when you submit your bmd's to the site.

Seems a bit more difficult than posting a list of names/dates as I planned on doing here, then waiting to be contacted for more info! :)

I will keep it in mind.  I agree all in one spot is better.

Time is too precious Grisel. Just do what's most convenient for yourself :)
