Spinster
« on: Saturday 28 May 16 00:27 BST (UK) »
Hi.  I am looking for some guidance.  My late father has made a note of his side of the family tree.  but the problem that I am having is that when trying to confirm his findings I come up with a brick wall.  I have a will and testament for a certain lady, which reads that she was a spinster.  but his notes mention that she married a certain male.  Have searched through ScotlandsPeople, Find my Past. Family Search all to no avail.  Where to go from here.  Also on his notes, and I am assuming, that he has also written down that the aforementioned couple, looks like they had children.  It looks like the children were born after the 1911 census.  Where next. Hope that doesn't confuse everyone.  So what I am really trying to find is their marriage cert, if that does exist, and  also what then could be the names of their children. Thank you Evergreen7.

The surname on the will and testament is the same as her birth record?
I am Australian, from all the lands I come (my ancestors, at least!)

Pine/Pyne, Dowdeswell, Kempster, Sando/Sandoe/Sandow, Nancarrow, Hounslow, Youatt, Richardson, Jarmyn, Oxlade, Coad, Kelsey, Crampton, Lindner, Pittaway, and too many others to name.
Devon, Dorset, Gloucs, Cornwall, Warwickshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire, Wilts, Germany, Sweden, and of course London, to name a few.

Could you give us her name, so we can further investigate the circumstances, including looking up births, marriages, deaths and any censuses, etc etc.

Evergreen 7, I had a quick look through all your postings, and you do not appear to have replied to any of them.

So I will send a pm asking you to return to this one and give us a little more information.
