Aghadowey,

Will contact you in the Fall for ideas on where to stay in and around Garvaugh and Cullycapple.  Would like to spend 2-3 days visiting that area!

Cheers, Irish Lynn

Hello,
I am the great great granddaughter of Daniel Thomson Heaney. Thank you for all of the wonderful research on the Heaney family!

Hi, great to read all your posts on the Heaney's of Cullycapple. I am a descendent of Thomas Boyd (Ballyclough) who married Margaret "Peggy" Heaney. I was born in Strabane, Ireland but now live in Australia. Was home in Nov 2019 but did not know of this Boyd link then. Does anyone know when this Boyd group came to Ireland from Scotland? I know they go to Scotland due to matching DNA I have with Boyds of Glasgow.
Thanks again for all the info.
Linda

Not sure exactly how you fit into the family tree but the Boyds have been in this area many generations. I can only trace these Boyds back to a John Boyd who married his cousin Margaret Boyd circa 1750.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hi Linda Houston!

Would love to hear your relationship with Thomas Boyd and Leticia Wallace! Did they immigrate to New York?  This is the one acre of my dads paternal side that i have not been able to get information on from Coleraine/Derry arena.  I know Thomas B. Was born around 1785 and died in 1865 in NYC and is buried there.  The family asked that the obituary be sent to the Coleraine Chronicle.
Please share any of your details and would love t keep the communication going...

Hi again Linda - Looks like we are both trying to find the Scottish link for the Boyds!  I too am wanting to find that.

I know they were originally from Scotland (my father told me that), but do not know when the first Boyds came to Northern Ireland.  Hoping its not as far back as the Ulster Plantation - that would be a lot to research!

I am on ancestry and have had my DNA done - no Boyds turned up as yet...

Aghadowey, its Irish Lynn again trying to find out more on the Thomas Heaney married to Anne Thompson family.  I am related to John Heaney Thomas’s oldest son who came to NYCity and died in 1863.  Do you know who John Heaneys paternal grandparents are?  I cannot determine if it might be William Heaney or John Heaney as Thomas’s (born in 1801) father.  Kind of at a standstill there.  I have looked through all the previous threads and there seem to be 3 main Heaney family’s that i am looking at.

I am also asking on behalf of another Heaney cousin who is the great times 3 granddaughter of Daniel Heaney who came to New York City and John Heaneys younger brother.  You have been the person that has provided me the best information over the last 3 years!

Hope you are doing fine and give my best to Leslie when next you see him!  Warm Regards!
