Rev William DANIEL of Anglesea, 1937
« on: Saturday 28 May 16 09:26 BST (UK) »
I have the following marriage lines:

DANIEL-PELOW - On 30 Oct 1937 Christ Church, West Didsbury, Manchester by Rev J L Street AKC, Curate and Rev William Daniel (father of the groom)of Llanfaclog? (hard to decipher), Anglesea, Trevor Gwynfor Daniel, Southport to Frances Mary Kane (May) Pelow, late of Dublin.

I know Frances M K Daniel died abt 1940 registered Bodmin, Cornwall but I know little about her husband Trevor - I have been told he was from Wales and his name would suggest this possibly.   Any assistance appreciated...I cannot seem to find Trevor in census records...His wife was born Dublin in 1907. Any assistance with seeking of further details of Trevor Gwynor Daniel appreciated.  I may have to opt for his marriage certificate.   Thanks Alma

Hi,

I don't know if this helps but there is a death of a Trefor Gwynfor Daniel in Aberconwy, Gwynedd in Jan 1987 aged 76. He was born 27 Nov 1910.

Ancestry has the marriage which also shows his name as Trefor G Daniel.

There is a 1911 census entry showing a William Daniel but we are not allowed to publish details.

You should be able to follow the family from the census and birth/marriage records - it looks like his father William Daniel married in 1906 to Jane Catherine Jones in the Wrexham area.

:)Thank You Alan  - I had located the probable death index ref for Trefor but had trouble locating him in the Census records for some reason.  This has assisted hugely and I am very grateful to you.  The expertise of folks on rootschat never fails to impress me.

Hello Alma,

I hope you have now been able to find William Daniel in the censuses, but if not -

1901 - At Martin Street, Rhyndwyclydach, Glamorgan

Mary Ann age 31 - Sister
William age 28 - Congregational Student
John age 27 - Brother
Margaret Jane age 24 - Sister

1891 - Surname shown as Dennie - at Aberclydach

Jonah  Widower age 51
David age 23 - Son
Mary Ann age 21 - Daughter
William age 18 - Son
John age 16 - Son
Margaret Jane age 14 - Daughter

1881 - At Aberclydach - census details quite feint -

Jonah age 41
Margaret age 41
Daniel age 15
David age 13
Mary A age 11
William age 9
John age 6
Margaret age 4

I think you will be able to find more from these details if you haven't already traced the family.

Alan

Hi Alma,

I know what you mean - it gets very addictive.

Have you managed to track down Jane Catherine Jones (William Daniel wife's) family? They lived in the Brymbo area of Denbighshire.

1881 -
David Jones age 33 - born Flint
Jane Jones age 30 born ? - but later census shows Prestatyn
Mary age 14 daughter - born Brymbo
Elizabeth Ann age 3 daughter - born Brymbo
Jane Catherine age 1 daughter - born Brymbo
Mary Hughes age 62 (I think this is probably David's mother in law as she also comes from |Prestatyn looking at later censuses)

1891
David Jones age 42
Jane Jones age 40
Mary age 24
Elizabeth age 13
Jane C age 11 (Transcribed as Mary C in error)
Martha L age 3
Alice age 1
Mary Hughes age 72

1901
David Jones age 54
Jane Jones age 50
Mary age 33 - Deaf and Dumb from childhood
Jane C age 21 - School Teacher
Martha age 13
Alice age 11

If I can help with anything else please let me know.

Alan

Thanks again for all the info.  I was primarily concerned with the wife of Trefor Gwynfor Daniel although required his birth/death years.  His wife is attached to my Critchley, of Bray Co Wicklow tree - have just printed it but much is private as has today's folk in it...200 pages
