Samuel Watkins

I would describe myself as a lapsed family researcher having allowed mundane activities such as work get in the way of more important matters. Having now returned to my family tree I find myself at a stumbling block. My ggg grandfather was born in Bath around 1793 later moving to Newport. My problem is that I am unable to go any further back in my tree. Can any one help please?

Samuel & Elizabeth had a son Samuel & a daughter Martha
so maybe??
