Hi all,

I am researching the family tree for http://www.unclaimed-estates.org.uk/bv21515986/1 who as you can see was born on 30th January 1934, after spending 2 days doing his tree and nearly completing it, I realised that his middle name may have been an alternative spelling, as it was actually "Varnells", a common middle name found in his tree. However just as I was about to finish it, I found this http://death-records.mooseroots.com, for Raymond V Tustian, showing the same date of birth for that of the one on the unclaimed estates list, but a death that is 14 years apart from the other one.

It would make sense that he died in America, as he has two children and a grandchild born and living there, and his parents died there. However it doesn't explain the death in 2015. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this has happened?

Hi

It is likely that he died in America in 2001 but did not leave a will.  Maybe the date on the BV listing in 2015 was when it was referred to them and not his death date

Yes it could be a mistake as it isn't the first time it has happened, I just can't understand why it's 14 years out though and not even on the same date or month. I'll have to get in touch with somebody and check the error.

There appears to be an obituary for Edwin and Mable's daughter (Jean M Hotchkiss, 1936-2006) here:

https://www.newspapers.com/search/#query=%22Edwin+Tustian%22

It appears they might have first gone to Toronto.  It mentions Mable and Edwin Tustian (parents?) and might mention her siblings, either deceased or living.

Small excerpt in the Reno Gazette-Journal - Wednesday, January 3, 2007 for Jean M Hotchkiss - (divorced 1976) daughter (born 1946) and son are mentioned.
