1939 Register
« on: Tuesday 31 May 16 17:59 BST (UK) »
I've searched for and found Herbert Johnson b 1889 living in Carshalton, Surrey with his wife Alice - alongside her name is the name Bachelor.......... she married someone with that surname after the death of Herbert some years after 1939. Coincidence?

The register was updated until c1990 so would show her later married name

Linda -- this 1939 register was later used by the N.H.S - any name changes, such as marriages were recorded on that register, so that it was supposedly 'up to date' for records purposes
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.
