Garrod family in Mile End Old Town East London

Hi all, just started on rootchat.com.
Had trouble on other sites finding info on my maternal line garrod,
My grandfather Edwin Garrod came from Knott street Mile End but can't find it on any maps! also my Gmother was from Eastfield street (found that) i would like to know if they was near each other,

Thanks Annie, Great map!!, Oh no not the Workhouse! although it does ring a bell,I found a Garrod as an inmate in Workhouse Intakes in my previous searches.
Any one out there with Garrods in their family?
PS Annie dates are around 1850-1890, they moved to Bow.

Can you give a DOB so we can find him on the census?

If you want to locate Knott Street (not named) on Annie's map.

It's in the area Centre Ward

Come west of the Regent Canal.  There's a cemetery.  Immediately west of that is Edward Street.

Knott Street was near the north end of Edward Street.  Very slightly to the west.

In other words - very close to Eastfield Street.

Blimey! that was quick well done all.
Just lined old map and A-Z just my luck not there anymore, a new 1950 Estate Knott street off Cadiz street,still got somewhere to visit now.
once again thanks all.
Being new to computer etc i  was getting nowhere.
