Thomas Clark Tymms born Notts?
« on: Wednesday 01 June 16 15:57 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for the birthplace and possible marriage of Thomas Clark Tymms b.1788. He died in 1842 in Doncaster. I've been told he was born in Notts.

Thank you larkspur and keyboard86 for finding all the information regarding Thomas Clark Tymms, you've filled in a lot of gaps. As you say, he operated a Drapery business combined with being the town Gaoler and also a Constable.
Following Police re-organisation he was made Chief Constable.
Not someone a criminal would want to mess about with, Thomas was 6'3" and weighed 29 Stone!
Who ate all the Pies?
I really appreciated the information which you've passed on to me.
kind regards
Bill
