First one looked like Leather dresser and second looks like leather drapier

a leather dresser is someone to prepares leather for use.

It is Leather Dresser. What looks like a p in the second image is a double s ( a 'long' s).  ;)

Thanks all. First one he was still at home so maybe a junior/apprentice position. Bit older in the next one so all fits. Later in life he is a patient leather maker
