« on: Monday 06 June 16 14:26 BST (UK) »
Could you please inform me of John William Fendley   HOdgson's, of King's Lynn Norfolk military records  in WW1.  I understand he may have been in RASC  and may have been a staff sargent . He went under either name of John Fendley or John Hodgson.  Born 1884 died 1980.
Cheers Marion

There is very little information in his records, but you are correct in that he was a Staff. Sgt. In the R.A.S.C.
C. His number was T4/244484.

Jebber

Added detail, he was a Farrier

First thing I noticed on his record is that he was embodied on 26/1/15. Embodied means he was a Territorial.
I also notice he was promoted to Farrier Cpl.
He rose through the ranks pretty quickly making Farrier S/Sjt. 20/11/15.
Stayed in the UK at no. 2 Horse Transport Depot in Blackheath until 7/8/18 when he embarked for France & went to the ASC Base Depot (HT).
He was also part of no.4 Coy. 69th. East Anglian Divisional Train.
When daughter Agnes was born 23/6/17 he was at Thornaby? Camp Worksop with 556 Coy. H.T. A.S.C. which was part of the above Div.
The 69th. stayed in the UK so he must have transferred to another Div. prior to embarkation.
Received long service pay 20/11/19 ( his time in the Territorials would have counted towards this).
Went on the Z List 25/3/19.
His Territorial no. was 696 Norfolk & Suffolk ASC.

Hi, many thanks for your info.
What does the initials MIC mean?
Did he have any British War  and Victory medals?
Also could you tell me where his wife Agnes came from and her birth date?
Cold here in Australia.
Cheers.

MIC = Military Index Card.
Every man awarded campaign medals had one.
He did receive the BW & V Medals.
There's nothing on his record about Agnes except when they married. She was born 1888 King's Lynn.

Hi, could you please inform me if the above, John Fendley Hodgson had more than 5 children. I understand one may have died at birth or at a very young age.  Could you also inform me of each son and daughter their birth dates and date of their deaths.
Cheers.
