William Harry bpt. 17 Nov 1771 base child of Philippa Lark
« on: Thursday 09 June 16 00:00 BST (UK) »
I recently discovered that William Lark ( became Harry)  bpt 17 Nov 1771 St Mewan married 22 Apr 1797 St Mewan , Isabel Trethewy.
I am a descendant  of that marriage. Their family of at least 10 children lived at St Stephen in Brannel.
It would seem that William was a base child of Philippa Lark ( ? from St Ewe).
Philippa Lark married Nicholas Harry 3 Mar 1772 at St Mewan . (soon after the birth of William who was then identified as their child).A strong possibility that he was the father.
My challenge now is to identify origins and details of Nicholas Harry and Philippa Lark.

Help appreciated.

Thank you Claire
So far so good. I think that is them.
I can see siblings Edward 1754 and Catherine 1757 also St Ewe.

I am being cautious as previously chose wrong William Harry but now convinced born Lark.

Now to find Nicholas Harry.
Any ideas please?

With thanks.

Hello Claire
Nicholas Harry could be Harrey as I have noticed variations.
Possibilities Mullion and Calstock. I am not aware of distance to St Ewe.

I have a Harry, but one of my variations is Harries (maybe this became Harris?).
There is a Nicholas Harries bpt 1753 so age is about right, but born at Kenwyn.
Distance Kenwyn to St Mewan is 17 miles. Maybe he is worth checking out?

Thank you Spike. I will check out that one in case he is the one I am looking for.
I also wondered about a Nicholas Harry from Probus about same age.
I am noticing variations including Harries and Harris.
