Richard Hutchinson c1813 & Mary Allan c1815
« on: Thursday 09 June 16 00:04 BST (UK) »
I am trying to trace the lives of my 4 G Grandparents Richard & Mary Hutchinson born Westmorland as per 1851 census
The only thing I can find is the 1851 census where they are living in tents in Co Durham. Richard was a basket maker and they had 7 children
I cab trace the life of their second child Martha my 3 G Grandmother, but all the rest of the family simply dissappear. Can anyone help please

Hi

I have a Thomas Hutchison in my tree who was born c 1803 in Kendall Westmoreland he married
Priscilla Burnett in Kendal on Christmas day 1830 and moved to Leeds . He was a wood turner.

I cannot see a Richard but I have not a lot of research on the Hutchison family as yet.

In 1861 there is a William b1834, Basket maker, living in Cockermouth but now born in Cumberland, in 1871 he has moved to Westmorland still making baskets and in 1891 a labourer in Durham.

Hello Butlersearch
It looks like the Hutchinson's may have been a fairly extended family in the Kendal area
The family I am researching were Gypsies/Travellers
I you come across anything on this branch of the family I would be grateful

John
Thanks for that info
Richard and Mary's eldest child was a William b1834, so i'll try to follow up this lead
The mystery regarding the whereabouts of the rest of the family remains
