That is him, William. Well done!

Wow, thanks Monica!!! This is so incredibly helpful, I can't believe his parents are Peter & Catherine, I never would have guessed that. Now on to research Peter & Catherine Cree.

Where were you able to find Archibald's death certificate? I looked on a couple different sites and wasn't able to find it?

It's there, Monica, in 1896 - it was confirmed in Rothesay as he died in Millport. There are 11 pages and so might be 10 credits well used!

William

This is great! Is there usually much information in these wills? Just wondering if it's worth the 10 credits or not? This is all I've got from ancestry. Do you think it would give his birth date?

You can never tell with wills but if it was me I would go for it. There are 11 pages and so it should be much more than just an inventory. The 10 credits is cheap by comparison with the £10 I have to pay for wills here in England!

William (whose current fascination is with wills and so maybe biased).

Re the death cert you will only be able to find it on Scotland's People. There is only one death for Archibald Campbell in Bute in 1891 - the district is Cumbrae. ( There were 16 deaths for Archibald Campbells in the whole of Scotland in that year - one page, one credit.)

Sorry, just got back to my laptop.

Like William says, for £2.33 (10 units) to view the will online, it is certainly good value.

I am not sure you will find Archibald's birth or christening entry in the Old Parish Registers. Some of the siblings' details are on the Family Search link I gave previously. I can't see anything for Archibald though (I checked the index on Scotlands People and nothing showing there).

The death entry for Archibald is the one in Cumbrae, Bute for 1891.
