Stewarts of Hakaru
« on: Friday 10 June 16 10:04 BST (UK) »
Kia Ora,

I'm interested in any information on the Stewart's who came to NZ on "The Spray" from Nova Scotia. The three men i'm looking for were part owners in the ship.
I'm looking for info on brother's Archibald Stewart (1815-1875) who married Margaret Ross and Alexander Stewart who married Flora Stuart, both settled in Hakaru I believe. And also their father whom I have seen written as both Kenneth and Choan/Coan Stewart(1782-1860) who even though  was part owner of the 'spray' sailed after them on the 'Breadalbane' and settled in Whangarei Heads with his second wife Euphemia "effy" McLeod. I'd really love to know anything about his first wife Anna MacPherson as I have nothing but a name for her.
Our line is; Kenneth/Choan-Archibald-Kenneth-Percy-Nat-Grant-Dean Stewart who is my partner :)
I'd love to go back earlier than Kenneth/Choan if anyone can help with that too!
Thanks alot for reading,
Warmest Regards,
Jess

Alexander and Flora Stewart lost a daughter named Dolina in 1882 at Rukuwai.

Rukuwai appears to be Whangarei heads looking at the map of NZ
