Please would Gnu get in touch with me.  I am the grand daughter of the man he is seeking further information on: in a posting he put up in 2013 he asked for information on William Wallace Carson Burgess who did indeed go out to South Africa and founded a family there.  My mother was his daughter.  I would welcome further information on him and would like to exchange family histories.  I am delighted to have found his name under Gnu's posting.  Thank you and look forward to connecting at some stage.

My family has been searching for information on William Carson Burgess for over 50 years.  I could hardly believe my eyes when I discovered the post I was attempting to reply to!  I'm very new to this, so don't know what to do next.  Can I send a message to Cath151 who has replied to Gnu's request?  She might have some access to him/her and be able to pass on my message.  Thank you.

gnu sent a personal message with an email address as we don't allow email addresses to be published here. The last one seems to be 'closely' related.

Maybe send a personal mesage and ask if they are still in contact. I might be upset if my email address was passed on by a 3rd party to someone I didn't know but wouldn't mind being contacted by the 3rd party and asked to email someone instead.

Just to say that Julia has been in touch with me as I'm from the same Burgess line, and I can fill her in about the ancestors/family of William Wallace.

There are quite a few of us on here who are descended from John Burgess and Jean Spalding of Kells.

I'm trying to find a very long thread about the family in Canada that was a few years ago now. It's probably in the Completed lookups.
