Search for Jane Anderson (nee Johnson)

Hello. I'm new to this site. I seem to be stuck researching my ancestor Jane Anderson (nee Johnson). I can find no information in regards to her parents or siblings.

The only concrete knowledge I have of her is that she married her husband, Alfred Anderson in 1933, in Sunderland, England.

I have been told that she rarely went by the name 'Jane', and went by another name (probably Mary).

I have no information as to the time of her death but I believe it was after 1982, but likely before '87.

As for her birth year, I'm stumped! I have an inkling it was around 1909 though, in either South Shields or Sunderland, County Durham.

Not many relatives spoke to her much, as she suffered from dementia in her later years and spent much of her time in a home.

Her husband, Alfred Anderson was born in 1906 and died in '66, both in South Shields.

It would be great if somebody could provide me with some information or advice in regards to this.

There are a few Jane Johnsons born about that time in that area, so once you know her father's name you should be able to find her on the 1911 census.

Certainly a possibility. I've heard that her death was more like '82-'87 but I'll certainly take this into consideration. As I said, I'm not 100% sure she was born in '09, just a best guess.

Lets hope the marriage cert gives an actual age for her too! (rather than a general "of full age")

I did (briefly) search the couple in the '39 Register. I couldn't seem to find either of them. I could only assume they lived elsewhere at the time.
