Thomas Buckell & Sophia Elderfield -

Hi all,
I have a problem I'm hoping people can help me fathom out.

Sophia Elderfield bapt. 1828 Harwell  (d/o Richard & Rachel)

Sophia marries Thomas Buckell 1850 in Abingdon - by Licence.

Unable to find Thomas & Sophia  in 1851, but have got them in 1861.

No 1871 census for them found but; a Sophia appears as w/o Anthony Palmer in 1881 with a g/daughter Sarah Buckell.

In 1891 Henry Buckell is with a wife named Elizabeth (nee Chapman) married 17-7-1878 Harwell,  as a widower.
Are there two families here or did they separate and remarry!!

In 1851 on Ancestry, the surname has been transcribed as Bucker.  With them is a 3yo Henry Elderfield.  Living in Harwell.

There's a death in Q3 of 1861 of a Thomas Buckell in Wallingford Registration District.

And there's a marriage in Q1 1880 in Wantage Registration District between a Sophia Buckle and an Anthony Palmer.  Also note that in 1871, Thomas and Sophia have a 16yo servant called Louise Palmer.

And in 1871 she's Sophia Buckett on Ancestry, living with son Henry J Buckett (who I suspect is really Henry Elderfield).

Thank you both for your valuable assistance. The info you have given is very useful.

With that and what I have found, I think basically the tree works this way, no doubt if I'm wrong I'll be corrected;

John Buckell bapt.. 1774 Milton, Berks (s/o Joseph & Martha) (per Milton transcripts ex OFHS).

John  marries Sarah Ballad 1802 Milton (per Milton transcripts ex OFHS) - Sarah is buried 1812 Milton

John re-marries Mary Giles 1820 Hampstead Norreys (by Licence -ex Wilts MLB cd)

Thomas Buckell bapt. 1824 (s/o John & Mary) (per Milton transcripts ex OFHS)

Thomas marries Sophia Elderfield 1850 Abingdon St.Helens By Licence (she already has a son   Henry John Elderfield bapt1848 Harwell).

Thomas dies 9-8-1861 Didcot (burial place not found - but date taken from Probate Calendar).

Sophia Buckell (nee Elderfield) re-marries Anthony Palmer (mar ¼ )1880 Wantage Dist. (place & date not found).
Anthony dies 1900 and Sophia 1906 both Wantage dist.

All I would like to do now is to put actual dates and  parishes against their respective entries.

Using all the CDs I have from Oxfordshire & Berks FHS nothing turns up. Perhaps they married in Registry Offices, entries which are not on-line.
