David & Christina or Christian Stapleton
« on: Saturday 18 June 16 15:37 BST (UK) »
Hello everyone,
I will be in Ireland this summer and hope to find the graves of my great x2 grandparents.  David Stapleton is buried in Ballyseedy Old Graveyard, he died in 1854.  My great x2 grandmother, Christina or Christian Stapleton, nee Magill, died in July 1864 but she doesn't seem to be buried with her husband ...  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Liz

Apologies, I think I have Christina's death date wrong ... it is in fact July 1869.  It would seem that they are both buried in Ballymacelligot... can anyone tell me where that is, please.
Many thanks in advance,
Liz

Judging by these tombs for Blennerhassett

this is probably it
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01hts/

appears to be a couple of hundred yards from Ballyseedee Castle Hotel

turn camera to your left and place cursor on road to advance forward which brings you back to graveyard

I really must apologise for the silence, my computer broke down and I only have got it back ....

What I don't understand is how David Stapleton can be in two places, Ballymacelligot and Ballyseedy, unless it is the same graveyard... I plan to go to Ballyseedy anyway and then see if I can find the graveyard in Ballymacellligot.

A thousand thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it - and sorry again for not replying sooner
Liz

If you look to top right of photo you will see two stones on right hand side of path in grass behind c 2014 and then the base of a celtic cross
http://51.171.187.68:280/Ballyseedy%20Old/DSC00888,%20STAPELTON.html

which appear here in this Google view in 2011

so it must be the second tomb to your left as you go in the gate
The gates have now been refurbished and replaced and it looks like the tomb appears here between the wall and the gate pillar
