Thomas Williams 1895

I'm  trying to find out any information on my husbands grandfather, Thomas Williams navel career.He was a medical orderly in the Royal Navy we have been told he was gassed during the war aboard a ship ,he was born around 1895 not sure if it was in Liverpool he lived in kirkdale Liverpool  England he is supposed to have jumped ship in America in the 1920,s he died in Philadelphia in 1926 any information would be appreciated .

Hi sorry I've only been on here once before and I am not very technical and I'm slow typing so please be patient. im  looking to find any  navel  information on my husbands grandfather the only thing I know is he was a medical orderly and was gassed during the First World War while he was aboard a ship or any work related. information regarding my husbands grandfather Thomas Williams born 1895 'sh  In England  he lived in kirkdale Liverpool England but I'm not sure where he was born could possibly be Ireland he was in the Royal British navy and was a medical orderly he jumped ship in America and  worked in a hospital as a orderly he died in Pennsylvania in 1926 I would be very grateful if anyone can find any more information  thanks Mary Vallance x

You say Thomas was your husbands grandfather,  so did he marry, have you got Birth certificates for your husbands father / mother .
They  may hold some more clues.

Seems very odd to be gassed while on board a ship.
He may have been with the RN Div. Artillery which fought on land.
