1891 Census help needed with Surname, please.
« on: Thursday 23 June 16 10:59 BST (UK) »

Piece:
1747

Folio:
78

Page Number:
19

James CELL and family, Stoke Damerel, 1891

He is listed as having a wife Philippa and a wife Jane.

But when looking at the image, Jane is a Pearce ( ? ) living next door.

And the Surname CELL, is a bit dubious to us too ?

Help needed please.

Thank you

Jane Pearce does live next door (wife of seaman)  At a quick glance - I would think the surname was Hills rather than Cell  ::)

Probate for Philippa Hills of 17 Greenbank Avenue Plymouth  (wife of James Hills) died 30 October 1900 - Probate Exeter 12 December to Caroline Hills - spinster - effects £ 49  9s (which fits with Caroline on the 1891 census)

 :)

Thank you so much Sandra for the census info and the extra information, I appreciate your help.

I have found the Marriage , thank you millipede.

I have found Philippa's baptism and her family on the censuses.

I was originally seeking more info on Harriet and the possibility they were related.

I now find I'm linked to Philippa Smith too.
