They could have married in Nottinghamshire- I am not saying they didn't. Just that I cannot find the record for one reason or another.On my marriage cd there are 116 records for marriages in Gedling between 1650-1670. No Butlers at all.
There is only 1 marriage for a Thomas Butler in the same time frame and that is in Nottingham to An Machin. The CD does not cover every parish.I also checked on Free Reg, Family Search, Ancestry nothing coming up.

Moving on to Mary and Samuel Harvey
Baptisms Gedling All Hallows
16-12-1735 Mary dau of Samuel & Mary Harvey
22-4-1739 John son of  """"""""
20-11-1744 Ann dau of """"""buried 21-6-1761 notes " dau of Samuel & Mary

other burials Gedling
1-11-1779 Samuel Harvey
17-2-1788 Mary Harvey widow.

There are only 2 baptisms coming up for a Samuel Harvey between 1700-1720
6-1-1716 in East Stoke parents John & Sarah
26-3-1717 Colston Bassett parents James & Elizabeth.
Calverton baptism 0-0-1707 Samuel HARVE son of John & Mary
There are 9 baptisms for a Mary Butler, none in Papplewick.
Gedling 2-9-1705 Mary dau of Thomas & Mary Butler.
The marriage of Samuell and Mary says both were from Gedling.

May be a ""Red Herring" but Familysearch.Org has this Marriage;

Thomas BUTLER, Spouse TUTHILL, December 1657, Saint Peter, Bedford, Bedfordshire

F/S also has a Fayth TURTLE Christened  25 July 1634, East Markham, Notts, to WILLIAM/JOANE
Siblings;
JOANE, 25 May 1728
GEORGE 1630
ELIZABETH, 2 July 1732

FreeREG has Baptism East Markhan, Father WILLM Turtle 1618-1628, no Mother named
Joane 1728 is there but not George/Elizabeth or Fayth

And a Marriage to Jane THWAITES 1616 for a William Turtle

As I said just a possible as Bedfordshire is a long way from Nottinghamshire.

Yes that is true but I searched Familysearchh.Org for a Marriage and just stated England, only the 1 that I posted turned up.

You can try FreeREG for most of those Counties.

Also as the Marriage is that far back a record might not of survived.
To get back to the 1600's is s feat in itself .
Most of us have not gone back that far with Family Lines as in some cases without actual proof it is sometimes guesswork.

You only have to look at some Trees on Anc. that are pure fiction :)
