Greggs during the Civil War, North & South
« on: Monday 27 June 16 17:36 BST (UK) »
Is anyone familiar with the history of the Gregg family?

Descendants of John Gregg emigrated to NE, including David and Andrew Gregg (http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Gregg-339).  Several Andrew's descendants played major roles on the Union side of the Civil War (e.g. General David McMurtie Gregg).

There are also several Gregg's in the South, who participated for the Confederacy, including John Gregg (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Gregg_(CSA)).

Does anyone know if there is a connection between these two Gregg lines?

Thank you, as always!
