B.B. abbreviation in Bishops Transcript Great Yarmouth baptisms 1836
« on: Tuesday 28 June 16 09:53 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am looking at the Bishops Transcripts for baptisms in Great Yarmouth in 1836 and have come across the abbreviation B.B. I think this is pointing out that the birth was illegitimate but does anyone know what the abbreviation stands for?

many thanks
John

I think you're right in your assumption of an illegitimate child

BB = base born
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
