wilfred cooke son of thomas and matilda of the floodgates kington herefordshire

and the cooke familys around eye, leysters, leominsters, middleton on the hill, herefordshire. these familys go back to james cooke 1781-1861 and susannah cooper 1788- 1854

You don't give any dates for Wilfred?

Have you followed the families through the censuses?

Familysearch has moved Kington into wales  :), my first thought was that Jane and James were his parents.

thats interesting seeing the name as cook, i gather the cookes of leominster etc were sometimes entered in census's in the same fashion, but i would guess thats how the collector saw cook being written.

again i cannot see at this stage any family tie to the cookes of leominster etc

regards homer

wilfred cooke died at gallipoli in 1915, on the cwgw web site he is stated as the son of james and matilda cooke, of the floodgates kington, herefordshire. he may have been born in 1894, his middle name may be sydney. so far i am unable to tie this cooke family back to the cookes of leominster etc
