Is it possible to find the father of illegitimate child born in a workhouse even though birth certificate has no father, only mothers name.

Extremely unlikely.  Almost impossible.

You don't say when or where the child was born but perhaps a bastardy (maintenance) order was made.

As I said in your other post There will be no domestic servant records, your only hope is if there was a child maintenance order made under the Affiliation Orders Acts against the father at the local court.

It is not a good idea to keep posting topics on the same person without giving links to your earlier posts.  It means people could be duplicating information you have already been given.  ;)

I found the father of my illegitimate grandfather (born 1889) by finding the baptism record. There was no record of him on the birth certificate but I read that often the parish would insist on the father being named so that he could take responsibility for the child if the mother died or became destitute. I found the baptism record and there it was, father's name. Hope it works for you.
