And sometimes  you will pay for a search  and they will  FAIL    to  find  something which was there.

In that case you make a complaint.

From experience, a lot of couples went as far as obtaining a decree nisi but never returned to court to have the decree made absolute, so technically they weren't divorced and subsequent marriages should be considered bigamous

As I said before, if you don't know the case number, it will cost £45.

I do my research before posting! ;D

Even then   your  reply was wrong      ;D

Really?!

Quoting from: https://www.gov.uk/copy-decree-absolute-final-order

Write to the court where the divorce, dissolution or annulment took place to get a copy of a decree absolute or final order.

Find the address for the court using the court finder.

If you know the case number, a copy of a decree absolute or final order costs £10. If you don’t know the case number, the cost is £45.

Send a cheque or postal order payable to ‘HM Courts & Tribunals Service’.

Can anyone help in finding a divorce record for Derek William Pow and Peggy Sinclair who married in Bath Somerset - 2q 1938 Bath 5c 1419.
I have been told that it was about 1968 in Trowbridge Wiltshire; but my informant has lost the information.
Both parties married again in Wiltshire after their divorce, Derek W Pow in 1969 Trowbridge and Peggy Pow in Swindon 1976.

I can't see what that has to do with it? How will that help?

Thank you dawnsh; I think that Chippenham is the right court as well. :)

groom; Peggy's granddaughter wanted to know more about her father and did not get an answer; granddad being in disgrace.
It must have been frustrating for a child when he/she does not get an answer. Today some young people want to know more about their ancestors and some don't take no for an answer.
