Set out below is a list of baptisms, as found, at All Saints, Maidstone.

The spellings are as per the transcriptions.  ???

Dec 27 1816 Mary Ann D of George & Ann BUNYARD Maidstone Bricklayer
Feb 10 1819 Elizabeth D of George & Ann BUNYARD Maidstone Bricklayer
Dec 23 1821 William S of George & Ann BUNYARD Maidstone, Bricklayer
May 14 1826 Frances D of George & Ann BUNYARD Maidstone Bricklayer
Oct 12 1828 Eliza D of George & Ann BUNGAR Maidstone Bricklayer
Mar 18 1832 John S of George & Ann BANYARD Maidstone Bricklayer

I also found a baptism for a Mary Burton as follows,

Jan 22 1769 Mary D of William & Eleanor BURTON

Note.  This is the only Burton baptism at All Saints to William & Eleanor.

Hope this may help with a loose ends.  ???

Actually, looking at the whole thread, it could throw the cat amongst the pigeons!  ??? ???

Regards,
Tony

Hi Tony

Yep these definitely help. These are the children of George Thomas Bongard and Ann Offord, with Frances being my direct ancestor. The surname does appear spelt in different ways in documents and I have seen Bongard, Bonyard, Bungard, Bunyard, and even Boneyard on a census transcription.

I didn't have Mary Burton's details before so thanks for that as well.

Matt

Hi again

Thanks for those. I was just about to look for other Burtons on familysearch but it looks like you've found some before me. Barton could definitely be a bad transcription of Burton or even Borton if the u was badly written. There is a clear gap between William and Thomas so Mary Burton could fit in there. I've seen Eleanor written as Ellen, Ellenor, Helen, Hellen, Hellen, Hellener, Helenor, Hellenor and even Helener so I reckon those are all the same family.

Thanks again. I'll see if I can find any of these on the census.

Matt
