A few questions
« on: Wednesday 06 July 16 18:50 BST (UK) »
Hi all

Have found a Robert Jones 1863 who married a Louisa Marion in 1890 in Liverpool. From what I can find Robert was born in Liverpool and his Dad I think was a William Jones who was from Wales est birth 1837. Is there anyone who could help me establish this any further or confirm this info? Thanks for your help in advance I'm having newbie family tree finder block lol!  :)

Hi,

Is this the marriage you mean?

From FreeBMD marriages search:

Lancs BMD has this marriage taking place at Toxteth Park, St Clements.

Lancs OPC has the following details for the marriage:

7th Jan 1890 at St Clements, Toxteth, Lancs.

Groom: Robert Jones, Age 28, Car Man, Bachelor, 6 Lydiate Street.
Bride: Louisa Marion Smith, Age 30, Spinster, 28 Danube Street.

Groom's Father: William Jones, Deceased, Warehouseman.
Bride's Father: Richard Thomas Smith, Mariner.

Witnesses: William Brancham, Mary Brancham.

Married by banns by W. M. Barrow, Incumbent.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

David

St Clement's is still there if you're interested. It was sometimes referred to as 'St Clement's, Windsor',  but any idea of calling that part of Liverpool 'Windsor' died many years ago.

Ancestry has a baptism on 28 Aug 1862 for Robert Jones s/o William and Eliza abode Virgil Street, born 4 Jun 1862. But William's occupation is engineer not warehouseman, but could have changed between Robert's birth and marriage. Might be a possibility.
