When the girls were in school, in your records, what surname did they have?

The other thread has the McGinnis (variations) children born to Pat and Jane Linney - do you have them in U.S.?

Hi,
Can I just check with you.....
In other posts you mentioned McGuinness or different spellings.
Did Jane Linney marry him?
Maggsie

Marriage is here https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FGD6-LML

The marriage indicates that the spouse -Jane is widowed.

Ok,
Jane Linney at the time of her marriage to Pat McGennus was a Widow aged 26.
I can't find Mary born to a John Kilcullen and Jane Linney.
The Easky births only start at 1864.
The children born to Pat McGennus and Jane Linney there is a Mathre looking at the record in registers it's a squiggly Mary Baptised 4th Oct 1866.

Hi Maggsie,

I don't think it looks like Mary - there is no descender on the last letter - others on the same page -'y' and  'g' for example have clear descenders but ...
I think it has been suggested that the name could be 'Math' - Matthew  ??? Or Matilda.

It is a pity that we can't find a Kilcullen/Linney marriage.

Thanks Maggsie.

If you look at the other thread it would seem that two fathers are named on different documents for Mary which would imply that Jane Linney married twice and the stepfather brought Mary up - hence sometimes he is dad and sometime John Kilcullen is dad.

Kilgallon was my maiden name..from Sligo Ireland..on researching I have come across a Kilgallon child with a father as Kilgannon. In other records I have Kilgallin..Kilgallen.. and also noted in NLI a man married as Kilgallon and his father was as Gallon..this my had been a miss on the Kil part of the name by the priest.
Sinann list of variants fits in well with what I have found.

Cheers
