Looking for a few loose ends on my tree - one of those persons is TRACEY (TRACY) PETER POWLES - have found an isolated headstone at Condon WA and it gives a clue to trace
Headstone says 'My Dear Husband'
date of death 16 November 1893 aged 38 years
Birth index 1855 Kyneton, Victoria #8477
Death index is registered 1894 and says 46 years #112

Found a marriage for Alice Powles in Roebourne WA #309  1894 to Joshua Steel
Is this his wife remarrying after Tracy's death or perhaps a daughter

I haven't been able to find a marriage for Tracy - any suggestions appreciated ............ Alison

Thanks for the Trove notices
By loose end - I mean people in my tree who I don't know much about and have had difficulty tracing
Until finding the headstone I didn't know he was married and haven't been able to find any other reference to being married - as mentioned by Debra, no mention in the death notice either
Because of the date, there isn't any mention of electoral roll info, so looking for other history clues to follow - I will keep looking for his wife - I also wonder if there were children .......... Alison

and file VPRS 28/P2, unit 479;  page 7 of 8 matter of title to piece of late.....trying to contact Mrs Tracy POWLES in WA.........believed to be married to camel driver and living in remote area.......

Marriage to STEEL looks very likely.

Having difficulty using PROV - how did you find the page that says 'trying to locate Mrs Tracy Powles ..............'    I can find Thomas Powles death (probate) 1897 references, but how do you then access the information ............. Alison
