Isabel Steel Bewcastle death
« on: Thursday 14 July 16 22:07 BST (UK) »
Hello,

There is a baptism for a Isabel Steel in 1767 in Bewcastle, Cumberland, daughter to Richard Steel and Ann Armstrong, an illegitimate child.

As odd as it sounds, I have a death date for her, she married and died in 1842. However I have misplaced some details, I think her husband was named William and that there is a gravestone of her in existence.

I would appreciate some help recovering some of the lost details, mostly where she died.

my thanks

Can't see a marriage for that name in 1842 so hard to pin down the right death without a surname  :(

Had she been married previous?  75 is rather old for a first marriage.

Do you think possibly she married before 1842 but died in 1842 ? Just worded a bit oddly :)

Yes it possibly doesn't mean she married and died in the same year but could be read either way  :)

She would have been Isabel ARMSTRONG (unless you can show that her parents later married).

The "ARMSTRONG or STEEL" is just the way that IGI presents thing when the father is named.
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.
