Catterall/Cartmell

Hello dear fellow genealogists,
Through the recently released 1939 register I have discovered that my estranged Grandmother Florence Sowerbutts nee Hyde not only married twice (2nd husband Joseph Catterall) but a third time to a Henry J Catmell in 3/4 1964 in Herefordshire. I'd like to know whereabouts she lived in Herefordshire so that I can possibly find where she is buried. She died there in 1996 as Florence Cartmell.

I have searched the probate register for Florence, and her husband Henry who died 1982, and nothing is showing there, I think you may have to buy a death certificate. Her place of death or the address of the informant may be helpful, but many villages in Hereford were still doing burials in the churchyard then.

A search of the Hereford times for that period may find a death notice, but without a date would be a tedious search.

I think that Florence may have had a child with Mr Catterall.  This child may then have married (in Herefordshire) with the surname Cartmell. You might be able to follow them forward and perhaps find an electoral roll entry for them.  You could then decide whether or not to contact that person.
