Look up request Malone-Baptism (Ennistimon,Clare) 1853-1858
« on: Saturday 16 July 16 20:00 BST (UK) »
I am doing my friend's family tree and have traced a John Malone back to being born in Ennistimon between 1853-1858. John moved to Lancashire after 1871 and married a fellow Irish lady also hailing from Ennis,Clare. I have had no luck trying to trace John's baptism. I was wondering if someone could help please. John had a total of 13 children to his wife in Lancashire, his oldest son James may have been named after his father. Any help is welcome. Thanks Cary :)

Do you have a copy of the marriage cert showing his fathers name?

Hi Carol

No I don't, I only usually order certificates for my own family, when I do other people's, they don't usually ask me to get the certificates for their ancestors. I have asked the person concerned do they want me to order the certificate but they are not forthcoming, so I am trying to find out off the internet.  ???

Online registers start too late..  http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0621
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

His birthyear differs by several years between censuses so you need some extra info.

He married Ellen Hehir in 1876 and the marriage cannot be looked up in parish records as it was likely in a Catholic church as per www.lancashirebmd.org.uk.   If your friend is reluctant to spend any money on a marriage cert I don't see how else you can establish his ancestry.

Being realistic - even knowing his fathers name may not help you given the info posted by Hallmark
