« on: Sunday 17 July 16 13:15 BST (UK) »
Hello

I am seeking information about Mary Tooth ,one of my ancesters, who was married to John Dutton in St. micael and All Angels Church in Colwich on 28 February 1757. She died on 18 January 1816.

Her Children were=
Thomas 24 Nov 1757 at Fradswell
Mary 22 Feb 1762 Milwich
John 5 May 1765  Milwich
Ann 14 Feb 1759 Fradswell
Jane 6 Dec 1772 Fradswell
William 17 Mar 1775 Fradswell

Her Husband John died  26 January 1795

I would be grateful for any information about John or mary particularly birth/baptisn dates and parental names.

Many thanks

Julia

When Mary died in 1816 she was said to be 78 years old.

Only two possible baptisms appearing on the registers currently available on FindMyPast

St Augustine, Rugeley - 22 February 1736 - Mary Tooth - very few parents given for other baptisms on the same page  :'(

St Michael and All Angels, Hamstall Ridware - Mary daughter of William and Dorothy Tooth - 16 April 1737.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

In theory FindMyPast has the parish registers for St James the Less, Fradswell, but there appears to be a gap in them.

Ancestry, using Family Search transcription data, say that there is a baptism at Fradswell of Mary Tooth, daughter of Thomas and Anne Tooth on 30 June 1737.

Fits with her year of birth calculated from age at death. A Thomas Tooth was one of the marriage witnesses (possibly father). She might be only 20 when married so would need parental consent - father might be present at marriage to give his consent and signed as witness

Hello

Looked up Mary tooth  in Find My Past at the Library. Tooth is a new family name to me and there does seem to be quite a few in the fradswell/colwich area. Lots of tooths or is it teeth. (sorry apoplogise for that couldn't resist it).

Though there is no certainty I think it highly probable that Mary is the daughter of Tnomas and Ann.

I think the next step is probably to join Find My Past and go through the parish registers.

Is ther any thing else I could do.

Many thanks again for all your help, I would not have got this far without it.

Best wishes

Julia

Hello

I looked through the parish registers and found some Tooths but none linked to my tree.

Best wishes
