I'm inclined to agree that William's wife is Sophia Mills married in 1803.

Can anyone find an Ann Meadows marrying George Bower before 1941 census?

I've just found and online tree that is interesting.

It says William married twice. It would explain why he wasn't on the '41 census with Sophia and Samuel.

A divorce record would be nice.

May I ask why you think George Bowers Wife was Ann Meadows?

1851 he is George H and has Mother in Law Ann Vaughan with him.
Daug Ester is down as age 10
FreeBMD has a 1838 Marriage Reg with a Ann Vaughan that fits 1841 Census

Darn Anc mucking up on me and I cant open the Census page.
I would say George may be Widowed.
2 possible Death Reg for Ann 1848.

Trish, I didn't think she was, I simply wondered if she might have been.

If you look at the '41 I'd say the Ann is more likely to be his wife. So yes, maybe a widow by '51, or wife Ann could be off visiting etc.

Far enough. I cant find anything on Ann Maria other than her Christening.

George H Bower, Stone Mason, born c 1807 Gloster, Gloucestershire, has remarried by 1861.

So looks to me that he has no connection to the Meadow Family.

Its good to rule it out though that his Wife Ann was not Ann Maria Meadows
