COMPLETED: Grandfather and great grandfather
« on: Thursday 21 July 16 00:25 BST (UK) »
Hit a brick wall  searching for my Grandfather's  HUGH MCGLAME  birth  BMD Scotland.  He was b. 1885,   m.  in Glasgow,  died London.  I cannot find his birth   I know he moved back and forth between Scotland and Ireland.  Found him  on census Glasgow 1891 aged 5.   At aged  13  Ireland  1901 census   place of birth given is Scotland,  His mother  name  LEONORAH CAMPBELL

I cannot find  HUGH FLEMMING MCGLAME  my great Grandfather's  marriage to LEONORAH CAMPBELL
found his Baptism    old parish registers Antrim.   He was in Antrim with LEONORAH CAMPBELL  1881
birth of a daughter.  Then turns up 1882 Greenock Renfrewshire death of same child,  3 more children born 1883  (my grandfather 1885) 1888 all Scotland.   LEONORAH  seems to disappear.   HUGH remarries  1890 to  Mary MCKAY  in Antrim   marriage cert. states widower.   They are  living in Glasgow 1891,  have a daughter 1892  who is born in Antrim .   Later I find he has died 1912 Falkirk Scotland.

It is so frustrating  where do I go from here !
Antrim/Scotland-- McGlame, Harvey, McAuley, Rogers, McCulloch, McFarlane,
Scotland-- O'May, Kirkwood, Deans, Taggart, Moore, Milloy, Hamilton, McFadyen, Turner, Smith, McPhail, Campbell, McMillan,

His 1912 death certificate will name his parents (if known by the informant).

I'm not sure how broad your searches have been but I would be looking at variants of that surname and also of Leonorah, as both are likely to be open to mis/interpretation.

I can't spot a death for Leonora in Scotland between (a slightly broader range than expected) -1887 and 1892.

She may have died in Ireland.

Have you found Leonorah on any Scottish census, which should tell you if she was born in Scotland or Ireland?  :-\

Added: Looking at your time line it doesn't look like Hugh and Leonorah were in Scotland for any census were they?

Antrim/Scotland-- McGlame, Harvey, McAuley, Rogers, McCulloch, McFarlane,
Scotland-- O'May, Kirkwood, Deans, Taggart, Moore, Milloy, Hamilton, McFadyen, Turner, Smith, McPhail, Campbell, McMillan,
