John Court 1806 Lenchwick death date confusion
« on: Thursday 21 July 16 17:31 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Looking at the records, I know that my 3x great grandfather Jesse Court, 1836 - 1907, was the son of John Court of Lenchwick, born 1806 and Sophia Garfield of Bishampton, 1806 - 1853

Sophia died in Bishampton in 1853.

According to the census, John is still alive on the 1871 census in Bishampton, but is living alone.

Now on family search, there is a John Court born in England in 1805 whom dies in Perth, Ontario, Canada in 1882.

At first, I thought my John Court was the one whom died in Canada, but now that I have found that there are two John Courts alive in the 1871 census, mine is still living in England.

Looking at the death records, the only possibility for my John Court in England is a death in Bromsgrove in 1879, but I am not sure.

I would appreciate it if someone could help assist in locating a death date for John Court.

If he was still living in Bishampton during his death, then his death would come under Pershore district

my thanks

Members of the public do not have access to ceath certs so the only way of establishing his death date and whether it is him is to buy a copy of the cert

Please show 1871 reference as I can only see one 1871 entry fitting the birthyear and living alone in Worcs  See Below - indexed as Courl

The 1861 also has a John Court b 1805 born &  living in Bromsgrove but married to Ann.   I suspect he is the death you found in 1879

A family tree on Ancestry has a John Court(from England) in Perth, Canada in 1871, in Kempsey, Worcs in 1881, and dies in Perth in 1882.  Is this what family search has, as very unlikely?
