im not sure if this is the catergory im trying to find the parents , sibblings etc of thomas hoggarth [ other ways hogart , hogarth ] i have his marriage to annie elizabeth paylor in 1923 at stokesly i think his occ says signalman but cant make it out ,it just says on marriage father hoggarth and says signal decesed age his 39 making birth 1884 hers 24 making birth 1889, i have the record for 1939 register and on it are annie 4 sep 1898 THOMAS 6 oct 1876 , with ronald 1932 thomas 1926 , kathleen m ironside [ hoggarth ] i dont know who she is , can any one help find more info on thomas who was thomas 1876 and who was thomas 1884 parents any help appreciated

in the image in the Yorkshire Marriages Thomas's occupation looks like "Roadman", his father is given as - Hoggarth, signalman, deceased.

thanks but how do i find his parents and his place of birth i have looked and cant find him in any census

His circa age at death is bc.1877 so would suggest the 1876 birthdate in 1939 is the correct one.  Since he was considerably older that his wife he clearly 'fibbed' about his age when they married i.e. 46 not 39!

Their first 3 children registered as Hoggart (mmn Paylor) - Kathleen M. is as Hoggarth Dec.1933 and mmn shown as Palor!

There's just a dash Annette on the marriage entry where his father's first name should be
