Have you looked outside of Norfolk for a Baptism for Thomas?

Just because he Married, Baptised Children and died in Norwich it does not he was born there.

You may already have these Children Baptised to Thomas/Elizabeth in Norwich, Norfolk;
THOMAS, 25 March 1787
SARAH, 16 Aug 1789, buried 17 Jan 1790
WILLIAM, 9 Jan 1791
ANN, 28 April 1793, buried 14 Oct 1793
JOHN, 30 Nov 1794

Anns has a note; Militia

Found his Burial under Thos 1809, age 42, Widower
Gosh Elizth died 3 weeks earlier age 42 (both from a illness?)

Are these also their Children?
Burials;
CHARLES, 20 June 1809 age 3
ROBERT, 10 Nov 1810, Infant
Parents THOS/ELIZTH

There is a Thomas Baptised 1766 Wymondham  to Andrew/Rebecca.
As Thomas doesnt use those names for his Children it is unlikely to be him.

All above on FreeREG

Not much help I'm sorry.

Trish :)

Not so strange as he must have been in the Militia c 1793 at least.

Did a bit of googling and found this;
http://www.foxearth.org.uk/1792-1794BuryNorwichPost.html

Quote from that;
May 16 1792; Western Regiment of the Suffolk Militia met here on Monday last, but the clothes and hats did not meet them their appearance was not very military.

Also;
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Norfolk_Militia

CHARLES you have I presume born 12 March 1806, buried as I posted age 3.
ROBT born 9 March 1809, christened 21 May 1809, died as I posted
So Elizabeth died soon after having Robert 3 Sept 1809
