James Shaw Lingard England - Married Martha Haigh

I am trying to get a death certificate on James Shaw to confirm who his parents were.

James Shaw 1808 Lingard England married Martha Haigh 13th August 1832 Hudderfield England. Had a son John 1836 Slaithwaite England Married (1) Hannah Nield 13th September 1858 (2) Annie Elizabeth Holdsworth 25th May 1869 Otahuhu Auckland New Zealand.

I have a marriage record for James and Martha Shaw but it does not show James parents.
Some one in the family mentioned that James died on 9th November 1880. I have searched using that date but no matches. Also they mentioned that James parents were Joseph Shaw and Mary Whitwam. I need a date of death for James so it will confirm that Joseph Shaw and Mary Whitwam are his parents. I will appreciate any one suggestions in helpin me

This is the only information on death certs in England and Wales. No parent names listed.

There is a death for James Shaw age 75 in the Dec Qtr 1880 Huddersfield on www.freebmd.org which would maybe fit the info you have. Do you know area of death?

The census 1851 also has another James Shaw in Huddersfield b 1804/5 so it could be him.

Also not finding where 'Lingard' is, not coming up on google.

Lingard's (or Lingarths) - a township in Almondbury, West Riding (according to Mr. Google).

More than likely he would have been baptised in Almondbury.

There appear to be 3 Baptisms for a James Shaw 1804/5 all in the Marsden Chapel register.
1804-father John a miner from Hey.
1805-father David a clothier from Ashton ?
For the above 2 at the top of the page:
"Christenings at Marsden from the Parish of Huddersfield"
1805-mother Sarah (ill.). no other info. so as there's no place name she must be from Marsden.
Not definite but on balance the favourite has to be the 3rd. James Shaw.

Hi. Thank you to those who have replied. Yes I have looked into the Census. I have the 1881 which show James and Martha, Henry and Joseph. I have searched the death date Sept 1884 with no match.  Is there any other way that I can get another marriage certificate with info on his parents. As the one I have show no info about his parents. Thank you for your input I appreciate it.
