That's interesting, I wonder if this article from a Dublin newspaper of 25 July 1850 is related:
A few Charitable Individuals are desirous of procuring a sufficient sum of Money to provide for the Children (Five in number) of Louis Botte, a Frenchman, who dropped dead while at work, on the 17th instant. The situation of his Children is still more distressing from the fact of their mother being dead these three years. They are now quite destitute, far from home and friends, and unable to work, the Eldest being only Eleven Years old. It is, therefore, hoped that a humane Public will not withold their support from the children of this poor Foreigner, whose character, while in this country, entitled him not only to the respect but even the love of those who knew him ...
The article goes on to give contact details for donations. The response was good and as a result, an article of thanks a few weeks later confirmed that enough had been donated to provide permanently for three of the children, with some left for the other two children such that a small further donation would provide permanently for them also.
A few days before the article on 25 July 1850, another newspaper article summarised the Coroner's Inquest which described Louis Botte as a 40 year old tailor and (presumably erroneously) a native of Germany, his fellow workmen on the day he died said that he complained of pain in the stomach which he put down to having eaten salad at his morning meal, he continued to work until 6 o'clock that afternoon when, as he was pressing a piece of cloth with a hot iron, he let go of it, put his arms across his stomach, screamed and fell as if he was in a fit - he died a few minutes later, the verdict was rupture of the aorta.
